C.O.D.E. Day 2011 a Huge Success!
The Junior League of Stark County had the pleasure of hosting C.O.D.E. (Connect Ohio Develop and Educate.) Day 2011. It was held on Saturday, October 22 at Glenmoor Country Club and the event was a great success!
Junior League members from all across the state of Ohio (over 50 members in total) had the opportunity to connect through the energizing topics that were covered throughout the day. The day started with a warm welcome from our Junior League of Stark County President, Wendy Menegay.
Next, Father Norm Douglas, Executive Director of Heart to Heart Communications, gave a motivating presentation on the Importance of Volunteerism. Through the materials he covered, members were given opportunities to reflect on factors influencing our decision to volunteer as well as on our roles as volunteers.
Following Father Norm, Subha Lembach (Area II Director for AJLI) trained on important steps to preparing for Creative Event Planning. Members walked away with valuable information to utilize in planning fundraising activities. The day of development and education culminated with a presentation given by Aileen Meyer (Junior League of Toledo President) and Stephanie Dodd (Junior League of Columbus) on the project being worked on to re-energize the Ohio SPAC (State Public Affairs Committee) efforts. Members were informed on the efforts being made to work to unite members from the Ohio Leagues and to create a platform for addressing important public affairs issues.
The day ended with a social at Gervasi Vineyard. Thank you to all who attended C.O.D.E. Day 2011!
